DaLu’s consultants have been personally and actively involved in the following notable projects and engagements:

  • Originated and facilitated the partnership between a publicly listed South East Asian and private Chinese company in Eastern China.
  • Created the strategy and business case for a foreign company to obtain board approval to Joint Venture with a Chinese equipment manufacturer.
  • Negotiated and delivered a Framework Agreement setting the key principles of a new facilities management company in China. Appointed board director to steward the entity through early start-up and business development.
  • Developed and scoped a company’s interests and position within a tripartite Joint Venture in China (Chinese and Middle Eastern partners) encompassing supply chain management, logistics, and marketing. Coordinated and led deal engagements between the three shareholder commercial and legal teams to deliver key documents which capture shareholder value and enable risk management.
  • Supported deal execution and delivery in China through assurance reviews of key Joint Venture framework documentation against company strategy. Namely: JV Contracts, Financing and Capital Contribution Structures, Commercial Contracts, Business Principles, Manual of Authorities, Board Committee terms of references, HR transition policies and Safety Management Systems.
  • Delivered business strategies for a foreign company in China for over 10 years, which helped convert a loss-making business to profit.
  • Negotiated all JV contracts and key documentation in the scoping, planning, development, formation and execution of a $300 million marketing/sales Joint Venture in East China. 8 year partnership with a major Chinese State Owned Enterprise.
  • Managed Due Diligence and the transition of two separate shareholders into one integrated Sino Foreign JV, resolving difficulties associated with asset transfers and culture differences. This enabled the JV to absorb 213 business locations into the company’s books and operations in a single day.
  • Led and negotiated a Joint Venture and New Market Entry into West China. First foreign retailer for this industry in a key growth market.
  • Led and coordinated a fact-finding delegation from a Chinese State Owned Enterprise to Europe. A week-long trip provided invaluable opportunity to build relationships with key Chinese stakeholders and enhance affiliations for ensuing venture negotiations.
  • Acquired/merged and developed 40 new businesses in local city and county areas in provincial China, resolving challenging circumstances which included government or competitive blockages and complex relationships with stakeholders.
  • Project managed and delivered a $25 million construction programme for a JV company (Chinese majority shareholder) comprising 30 complete rebuilds and over 150 construction projects. Incremental NPV $30 million.
  • Helped champion safety culture and behavioral change for staff and contractors in a newly formed joint venture in Eastern China, which in turn translated into reduced numbers of safety incidents and unsafe acts.
